Jeffrey D. Madden, PhD, ABPP, ABN

Jeffrey D. Madden received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The Ohio State University in June of 1990. His predoctoral internship in Rehabilitation Psychology was completed at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL and Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, IL. Dr. Madden completed his postdoctoral training and supervision in the Department of Physical Medicine at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. Prior to returning to graduate school to study clinical psychology Dr. Madden taught at Bishop Hartley High School in Columbus where he served as chair of the Language Department. Prior to Bishop Hartley he was a member of the Salesians of St. John Bosco; a religious order in the Catholic Church dedicated to working with disenfranchised youth and worked in a number of settings in the Eastern United States.  He has a B.A. in Philosophy, magna cum laude, from Don Bosco College, Newton, NJ and an M.A. in Theology, cum laude, as well as a Master of Divinity degree from the Graduate School of Theology of the Pontifical College Josephinum in Worthington, OH.

Dr. Madden is licensed as a psychologist in Ohio and New York (inactive). He is listed in the National Register for Health Service Providers in Psychology. He is a member of the attending staff of  the OSU Medical Center and OSU East Hospital and Riverside Memorial Hospital. Dr. Madden is board certified in both Rehabilitation Psychology (American Board of Professional Psychology) and Clinical Neuropsychology (American Board of Professional Neuropsychology).

After completing his postdoctoral training, Dr. Madden joined the clinical faculty of the Department of Physical Medicine at The Ohio State University. In his nearly 20 years of service in the Department he has served in a number of roles including Attending psychologist for the Spinal Cord, Outpatient Brain Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury.  He is currently the attending psychologist for the inpatient vascular (CVA) rehabilitation program.

In addition, Dr. Madden has consulted at a number of acute, subacute, and extended care facilities for cognitive and emotional assessment, behavioral management, and psychological intervention. These have included Arbors of Columbus, Northland Terrace, Greenfield Area Medical Center, Mayfair Village and Marion Med Center.

Dr. Madden has appeared on local and national television regarding issues related to disability.

Currently Dr. Madden provides a wide range of rehabilitation and neuropsychological outpatient services as well to as the inpatient vascular service. He performs outpatient neuropsychological assessments and follow-up for issues such as return to work and age-related cognitive change/dementia. In addition Dr. Madden works with individuals in psychotherapy on issues related to adjustment to disability and issues related to return to work after an injury. Dr. Madden is on the Disability Evaluators Panel for BWC and performs forensic as well as Fitness for Duty evaluations. He is a Medical Expert for the Columbus Office of Disability Adjudication and Review of the Social Security Administration.
